From Steampunk Machines to Skin Art: A Living Image Studio Collaboration

May 22, 2024

One of the most rewarding aspects of creating art is seeing how it resonates with others. Recently, I experienced an incredible example of this when an individual reached out to me after seeing one of my steampunk creations: an animated skull with glowing red eyes. The enthusiasm and appreciation expressed for my work were genuinely heartwarming. This person, captivated by the intricate design and the eerie charm of the steampunk skull, had an extraordinary request. They wanted to immortalize the piece in a very personal way: as a tattoo on their arm. Flattered by the idea, I happily agreed to provide the necessary photographs and permitted the design to be used for a tattoo.

The individual, Wesley Hibbs, collaborated with a talented tattoo artist known as @supermedrone. @supermedrone captured the essence of my original sculpture perfectly. The result is nothing short of spectacular. The tattoo showcases the intricate details of the skull, with the glowing red eyes giving it a mesmerizing and slightly haunting look. The blend of steampunk elements with the organic form of the skull has created a unique piece of art that stands out in tattoos and steampunk design.

Seeing my work inspire someone to such an extent has been incredibly gratifying. It’s a reminder of the power of art to connect people, transcending mediums and sparking creativity in unexpected ways. I’m honored to have my steampunk skull become a permanent part of someone’s expression and personal story. If you’re looking for an exceptional tattoo artist who can bring intricate designs to life, I highly recommend checking out @supermedrone.

Thank you to Wesley Hibbs, who found inspiration in my work, and to @supermedrone for transforming that inspiration into extraordinary body art.
